Pursuant to Article 32c(2) of the Atomic Law Act (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1792, as amended), I hereby give notice that in the organisational unit of Stomatologia Puciło, activities involving exposure to ionising radiation are carried out, consisting in:

  • activation and use of devices generating ionising radiation (Kavo Focus apparatus)
  • setting up an X-ray laboratory that uses sources of ionising radiation

Decisions authorising the commissioning and use of an x-ray machine and the opening of an x-ray laboratory were issued for the unit by the Lubuski State Voivodship Sanitary Inspector in Gorzów Wlkp, No. I/M/NS-HR-24/118/2019 of 19 March 2019.

On the basis of Article 17(1) of the Atomic Law, in order to adapt the way the risk is assessed to its expected level, the employees of the organisational unit have been placed in exposure category B. The assessment of employee exposure is carried out on the basis of: systematic measurements of individual doses.

No exceedances of the dose limits /effective dose, equivalent dose/ specified for workers have been found in the last 12 months.

On 12 March 2019, dosimetric measurements of the distribution of the power of the dose of ionising radiation X around the Kavo Focus x-ray apparatus were carried out, during which it was confirmed that the construction of the walls, ceilings, windows, doors and installed protective devices in the x-ray laboratory protects the working persons, persons from the general population residing in the vicinity, as well as persons from the general population in the case of an x-ray laboratory located in a residential building from receiving the doses specified in § 2 and § 3(1) of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of 21 August 2006. (Journal of Laws No. 180, item 1325).

The head of the undertaking shall ensure that the implementation of the exposure activities is carried out in accordance with the principle of optimisation which requires that, taking due account of economic and social factors and the state of the art, the number of exposed workers and members of the public and the likelihood of their exposure are kept to a minimum and that the doses received by them are kept as low as reasonably achievable.

Based on the above information, it is concluded that the activities in the past 12 months have had no negative impact on human health and the environment.

No radioactive substances are released into the environment in connection with the activities described above.
